Effective Tuesday, July 1st, 2025, the university requires the use of research charges that have been fully costed. Allowable research codes and costs can be found here. Please note that the research codes are only for clinical trials that are not industry-sponsored.

New Research Write-Off Process
To enhance efficiency and improve customer service, the VMC will implement a new research write-off process for charges. This new methodology will help ensure clients do not pay charges that research is covering, as well as increase billing accuracy by eliminating write-off forms. Research trials will be billed in WorkDay monthly.
Please watch the training video (3 minutes) and read the Research Write Off Process instruction to learn how to complete the new research write-off process. The steps in the instructions and video should be completed by the researcher or designated representative.
The new process will only apply to research and will not replace any other write-off procedures at this time.
