Experience a Virtual Visit

We invite you to view a brief video to get an idea of what to expect from your visit to the our Veterinary Medical Center in Dublin.

Your Visit

Before we welcome you and your dog or cat to our the Veterinary Medical Center at Dublin for the first time, we wanted to provide information, from scheduling through the time of discharge from our hospital, to give you a full overview of what you can expect from your visit.

Access client/patient portal here.

Our urgent care does not require you to schedule an appointment, but it is encouraged that you call ahead before arrival, if possible, whether your veterinarian referred you or you are coming in on your own. For our specialty services (Ophthalmology and Orthopedic Surgery) you do not need a referral to schedule appointments.  Our customer service team members will assist you and gather all necessary information. If your personal veterinarian should be the one to call to schedule the appointment for you, we will obtain as much information about your dog or cat from them and call you if additional information is needed.

Please bring a list of your pet’s medications, dosage amount, how long your pet has been taking the medications, information about prior surgeries or other treatments, and please be prepared to explain the symptoms you are noticing your pet to be experiencing. It is also important to bring your personal veterinarian contact information and any copies of recent diagnostic test results

Free and abundant parking is available adjacent to the hospital. Please note, dogs must be leashed and cats must be in a carrier. Please check in at the registration desk. When checking in, you will need a government issued photo ID, provide an electronic signature upon registration, and provide further clarification about your pet’s situation. For urgent care cases assessed as needing immediate attention, the clinical team will triage in the lobby and take your pet to the treatment area immediately. In these instances, registration occurs once your pet is safely in the treatment area.  After registering your pet and signing a consent form, you and your pet will be escorted to an exam room. For urgent care visits, in cases of more serious emergencies, patients will be prioritized based on severity of their condition. You may be asked to wait in our lobby. Please notify our reception staff if you are waiting for more than 15 minutes.

For Urgent Care: Once seated in an exam room with your dog or cat, you will be greeted by a member or members of the clinical team who will collect detailed history and perform vitals. After initial discussion, you will be given an estimated wait time based on your pet’s condition and prioritization of all urgent care cases in the queue at the time. From there, your dog or cat will be taken to our hospital treatment room for initial exam and assessment by the clinical team.

At this point, you will have the option to wait in the lobby while your pet is being examined and assessed, and once completed, the clinician will speak with you in person to discuss the treatment plan and options – or, you may choose to leave your pet with us and our clinician will call you to discuss treatment plan and options and have you return at a scheduled time, once all treatments are complete.

Once seated in an exam room with your dog or cat, you will be greeted by a member or members of the clinical team who will collect detailed history and perform vitals. You may remain with your pet as the ophthalmology team conducts their exam, but will be asked to wait in our lobby while the team performs diagnostic testing on your pet’s eyes. Once testing is complete, the clinician will review diagnostic results with you and discuss care recommendations and next steps. You will then be directed to the reception desk for discharge and check-out.

For outpatient appointments, once you are seated in an exam room with your dog or cat, you will be greeted by a member of the clinical team who will collect detailed history and perform vitals. After initial discussion, your dog or cat will be taken to our hospital treatment room for an initial examination by an orthopedic clinician, Once the exam is complete, the clinician will share results of the initial assessment and medical/surgical recommendations with you. If diagnostics are agreed to, you will have the option of waiting in our lobby or returning at a later time to retrieve your pet. The clinician will provide final recommendations and estimates for surgery (if applicable), once diagnostics are complete. An orthopedic service team member will return your pet to you, schedule any follow up appointments or surgical visits, and escort you to the reception desk for discharge and check-out.

For surgery appointments, your pet will need to be dropped off a pre-scheduled time. At that time, you will be asked to sign the consent form and pay a deposit on the agree upon estimate from your outpatient visit. The deposit is 75% of the high-end of the estimate. You will then have an opportunity to meet with the surgeon to discuss the procedure and have any questions answered. The clinician will perform pre-surgery procedures and a “day of” surgery physical on your pet. Your pet will be taken back to our ward until it is time for surgery. A clinical team member will call you when your pet enters and exits the operating room. Once your pet is in recovery, the surgeon will call to discuss surgical findings, prognosis and follow up car with you. Your pet will remain in our hospital overnight.

For Urgent Care services, you will be required to pay the exam and consultation fee when you register your animal and sign the consent form.  You will receive a call when your pet is ready to be discharged. For urgent care and orthopedic surgery patients, a clinical team member will review discharge instructions, any medications and follow up information with you and direct you to the reception desk for check-out. For orthopedic and ophthalmology outpatient appointments, full payment is due for services rendered that day. For urgent care patients, any remaining fees for testing and treatment based on an agreed upon estimate will be due in full at time of discharge. If your pet is being transferred to our campus location for hospitalization, we will provide an estimate for additional transfer and hospitalization fees for you to sign and pay before transfer is initiated. Our Urgent Care team will communicate with our campus receiving team and assist you with loading your pet into your vehicle for transfer.  For orthopedic surgery patients, your pet will typically be discharged the following morning after surgery. A clinical team member will review discharge and follow-up instructions and medications with you and direct you to the reception desk for check-out and payment of your remaining balance. A team member will bring your dog or cat to you and assist with loading them into your vehicle.
